<p><span>DLS supports fundamental research that increases our understanding of cognitive, linguistic, social, cultural, and biological processes related to children's and adolescents' development and learning. Research supported by this program will add to our basic knowledge of how people learn and the underlying developmental processes that support learning, social functioning, and productive lives as members of society.
<p><span>The purposes of HEP are to help migrant and seasonal farmworkers and members of their immediate family: (1) Obtain a general education diploma that meets the guidelines for high school equivalency (HSE) established by the State in which the HEP project is conducted; and (2) gain employment or be placed in an institution of higher education (IHE) or other postsecondary education or training. <p>The purpose of the Technical Assistance and Dissemination to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities program is to promote academic achievement and to improve results for children with disabilities by providing technical assistance (TA), supporting model demonstration projects, disseminating useful information, and implementing activities that are supported by scientifically based research.

<p><span>PD-STEP is one of four grant programs in the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI) - Education and Workforce Development (known as AFRI-EWD). There are two of projects types in PD-STEP for 2018: Integrated and Single-Purpose Projects. Projects Supported By PD-STEP Projects should develop self-sustaining models for professional development that better prepare education professionals to provide outstanding teaching, guidance and institutional structures that enhance student outcomes in the food, agriculture, natural resources and human (FANH) sciences.

<p><span>The DRK-12 program invites proposals that address immediate challenges that are facing preK-12 STEM education as well as those that anticipate radically different structures and functions of preK-12 teaching and learning. The DRK-12 program has three major research and development strands: (1) Assessment; (2) Learning; and (3) Teaching. The program recognizes the synergy among the three strands and that there is some overlap and interdependence among them.
