<p><span>This program supports active long-term collaborative partnerships between K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Computer and Information Science, and Mathematics (STEM) teachers and community college and university faculty and students to bring knowledge of engineering or computer and information science and engineering as well as technological innovation to pre-college/community college classrooms.
<p>The National Professional Development (NPD) program, authorized by section 3131(c)(1)(C) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (hereafter in this notice referred to as the ESEA), awards grants on a competitive basis, for a period of not more than five years, to institutions of higher education (IHEs) or public or private entities with relevant experience and capacity, in consortia with State educational agencies (SEAs) or local educational agencies (LEAs).
<p>Synopsis of Program: The Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) program seeks to advance new approaches to and evidence-based understanding of the design and development of STEM learning opportunities for the public in informal environments; provide multiple pathways for broadening access to and engagement in STEM learning experiences; and advance innovative research on and assessment of STEM learning in informal environments.
<p>The purpose of the program is to improve the quality and accessibility of education for deaf and blind children (DBC) through the promotion of inclusive education practices. The program has three objectives: (1) Increasing the number of deaf and blind children attending primary school; (2) Enhancing early grade reading outcomes for deaf and blind learners; and (3) Improving inclusive education delivery systems.

<p><span>The EHR Core Research (ECR) program of fundamental research in STEM education provides funding in critical research areas that are essential, broad and enduring. EHR seeks proposals that will help synthesize, build and/or expand research foundations in the following focal areas: STEM learning, STEM learning environments, STEM workforce development, and broadening participation in STEM.</span></p>
<p>The annual Applied Research Competition is the most competitive line of funding we offer. Researchers can apply for 1-2 year grants of up to $30,000. Since 2002, we have proudly contributed more than $3.5 million in grants to support over 200 autism pilot studies. The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) seeks proposals for its 2017 Applied Research Competition.
<p>The Comprehensive School Safety Initiative (CSSI) funds rigorous research to produce practical knowledge that can improve the safety of schools and students. The initiative is carried out through partnerships between researchers, educators and other stakeholders, including law enforcement and mental health professionals. Projects funded under the CSSI are designed to produce knowledge that can be applied to schools and school districts across the nation for years to come.
<p>IDEA is launching a call for proposals to promote new knowledge in the fields of teaching and learning (IDEA Impact Teaching/Learning Grant) and campus climate (IDEA Impact Campus Climate Grant). <br>The IDEA Impact Teaching/Learning Grant is designed to promote effective student learning by carefully exploring and systematically documenting the efficacy of various teaching practices, learning environments, and institutional policies.
