<p><span>The LRNG Innovators Challenge supports educators to work together to develop new practices, arrangements, curricula, and/or projects that have, at their core, principles of Connected Learning—interest-driven, production-centered, peer-supported work by young people. Educators include teachers and also youth workers, mentors, librarians, museum educators, teaching artists, and others—those who work with youth in learning-centered endeavors and opportunities.
<p><span>The APS Foundation invests in programs that enhance academic achievement in the areas of STEM. A majority of the funding is designated to teachers, who are broadly credited as the single-most important factor in the K-12 educational system. The Foundation targets projects that help educators increase content knowledge in STEM subjects as well as the ability to transfer this knowledge effectively to students. Grants support Arizona’s youth and educational leaders focused on K-12 and college/university partnerships.</span></p>
<p><span>The Russell Sage Foundation initiative will support innovative social science research on the social, economic and political effects of the Affordable Care Act. Of special interest are analyses that address important questions about the effects of the reform on outcomes such as financial security and family economic well-being, labor supply and demand, participation in other public programs, family and children’s outcomes, and differential effects by age, race, ethnicity, nativity, or disability status.
<p><span>Taking into account developments that have taken place in Latin America over the last ten years, the Foundation recently embarked on an evaluation of its grantmaking efforts. As a result of this strategic planning process, the Board of Directors has identified five program areas in which focused, expert research and innovation has the potential to make significant positive impact.
<p>RWJF funds efforts to change public and institutional policies, systems, and environments in ways that<br>promote improved nutrition, dietary patterns, and healthy weight among children.
<p>The purposes of this program are to (1) help address State-identified needs for personnel preparation in special education, early intervention, related services, and regular education to work with children, including infants and toddlers, with disabilities; and (2) ensure that those personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through scientifically based research and experience, to be successful in serving those children.</p>
<p><span>The program recognizes educators nationwide who are incorporating digital media in classrooms and serving as leaders in educational technology. Over the course of the 2016/2017 school year, PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators will be part of a robust professional learning community that will foster new ways of thinking, while leading the way in using technology to drive student achievement.
<p>The National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES) welcomes proposals for research, workshops and studies to advance the development, understanding, and quality of the Science and Technology (S&T) enterprise. Research could include improved approaches to indicator construction and presentation, new S&T indicator development, strengthening of methodologies to improve the surveys of S&T data, analytical or theoretical work on S&T policy relevant issues, and better understanding of the S&T enterprise in the United States and globally.
<p><span>This mid-career fellowship enables researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to work in settings that are outside of their traditional roles. Researchers immerse themselves in policy or practice settings and policymakers and practitioners work in research settings.</span></p>
<p><span>Supports basic science in the domain of human language, encompassing investigations of the grammatical properties of individual human languages, and of natural language in general. Research areas include syntax, semantics, morphology, phonetics, and phonology.
