What to anticipate

Through Educational Studies Internships students gain professional experience and foster learning with children, youth, or adults outside the PK-12 classroom. Learning environments may be formal or informal, in-person or virtual, and within nonprofit settings, community and academic institutions, civic organizations, or businesses.

Through a 3-course series, students first learn about Human-Centered Design (HCD) and choose an internship placement for the ensuing two courses that aligns with their career interests. In the second course, students support learning within their chosen placement and identify challenges they will address via HCD in the third semester.
