This is the ceremony where your name is called when you walk across the stage.

What’s the difference between commencement and convocation?

During the University Graduate Commencement, President Crow confers degrees upon master’s degree and doctoral candidates from all ASU colleges. Doctoral students are hooded on the floor before walking onto stage. Master's degree students are not hooded. During the University Undergraduate Commencement, President Crow confers degrees upon bachelor’s degree candidates from all ASU colleges. Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College graduates are recognized together and stand as a group but they do not walk onto the stage.

The Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College Convocation is a high-spirited celebration for only our graduates. You will be individually recognized by our dean for your academic achievement, and your name will be read as you walk across the stage to shake hands and have your photograph taken. Learn what to expect and browse the Convocation FAQs.
