MLFTC’s Next Education Workforce Summit highlighted ways for education leaders to explore new approaches to teaching and learning that improve outcomes for teachers and students.

In February, MLFTC held the Next Education Workforce Summit 2022, which brought together education leaders, practitioners and experts to discuss redesigning the education workforce. The event featured over 22 leaders in education and hosted 300 attendees. Keynote speaker Dr. John B. King, Jr., president and CEO of The Education Trust and former U.S. Education Secretary, joined Dean Carole Basile for a keynote discussion. King talked about the challenges educators face and the lack of support that prevents them from achieving everything society demands from them. He also shared that education is what saved him — the relationships, the consistency and the engagement are “why I’m alive today,” King said.

Also in attendance were many of MLFTC’s school partners who are building Next Education Workforce models in their schools. Each school shared how they worked to implement a team-based model that delivers better outcomes for learners and is more sustainable and enjoyable for educators.
