Dean Carole Basile shares solutions to Arizona’s teacher shortage

Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College Dean Carole Basile talked with Ted Simons on PBS’ “Arizona Horizon” about how Arizona’s teacher shortage is a symptom of a larger problem.

She says, “Many teachers leave because what we are asking them to do is a job that is probably not humanly possible. We put them in a classroom with 30 children and say, you have to know everything that everybody knows.”
