The Divisions

The Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation includes two academic divisions: the Division for Advancing Educator Preparation and the Division for Advancing Education Policy, Practice, and Leadership.

In formal and all external communications, please refer to the divisions by their full names.

1. The Division for Advancing Educator Preparation includes bachelor’s and master’s programs that prepare individual educators to work in schools and other learning environments.
2. The Division for Advancing Education Policy, Practice, and Leadership includes bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees that focus on educational leadership, learning design, policy and other topics. The programs in this division prepare graduates to grow into roles that require leadership in both thought and action, serving learners in schools, youth-serving organizations and other learning environments.

Internally, for the sake of brevity:

• ✅ Do: Division for PPL, 🚫 Don't: D2, 🚫 Don't: Division 2

Additionally, the college will be organized to:

1. Develop and deliver professional learning for educators, anchored by the ASU Professional Educator Learning Hub, a comprehensive professional learning platform designed both for individual educators and for school and system leaders.
2. House a portfolio of action-oriented centers and initiatives that bring people and ideas together in schools and other learning environments.
   
   These efforts will include:
   1. Center on Reinventing Public Education
   2. Center for Whole-Child Education
   3. Community Educator Learning Hub
   4. Educational Media Innovation Studio
   5. Global Futures Education Alliance
   6. Learning Futures Collaboratives
   7. Next Education Workforce
   8. Urban Collaborative
   9. Other efforts, as opportunity and environmental needs emerge

We’ll do this in two stages.

1. Marketing and communications stage, beginning January 13, 2025

You will see the change on our websites, social media and communications assets almost immediately. This stage of the process will include:

• Websites
• Social media channel branding
• Email signatures
• Slide deck templates
• Media relations
• Marketing materials (print and digital)
• Swag
• Logos in the ASU brand library
• Fundraising and campaign materials

2. Formal, legal and academic systems, completed by August 21, 2025

We aim to complete the renaming process by the beginning of the Fall 2025 term, which begins August 21. This will include such items as:

• Syllabi
• Contracts, MOUs, and other legal documents
• Grant applications and proposals
• Courses and content on CareerCatalyst, the Professional Educator Learning Hub, and the Community Educator Learning Hub
• Diplomas
• Other elements of enterprise-wide ASU systems
• Signage and facilities (some of which may take longer)

Yes. Logos, slide templates, Zoom backgrounds and other branded communications assets will be maintained and updated in the Marketing & Communications section of the MyEducation Hub.

• Please hold off on ordering new business cards for the time being. The MLFC business office is creating a centralized process for this, which will be posted here and communicated via email when ready.

Email signatures should contain no image attachments (for accessibility standards and compatibility with all mobile devices and email applications).

Diplomas awarded in May 2025 will have the current name of Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
