Overview

<p><span>The overall purpose of the Institute's training programs is to prepare individuals to conduct rigorous and relevant education research that advances knowledge within the field and addresses issues important to education policymakers and practitioners. </span></p> <p><span>Through its training programs, the Institute seeks to fund new approaches to train and mentor students and researchers from diverse backgrounds in order to encourage their entry into and success in education research careers. The Institute intends for these efforts to improve the quality of education research and to encourage new ideas, approaches, and perspectives. The Institute is particularly interested in applications for research training that will help state and local education agencies build their capacity to use evidence, as envisioned by the 2015 reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, known as the Every Student Succeeds Act. </span></p> <p><span>For FY 2017, the Institute is accepting applications for training under three topics: Pathways to the Education Sciences Research Training Program (Pathways Training Program); Postdoctoral Research Training in the Education Sciences Program (Postdoctoral Training Program); and Methods Training for Education Researchers Program (Methods Training).</span></p>

Solicitation Limitations: <p><span>Specific training program requirements, budget parameters and limits, and other limitations are outlined for each type of program in the full solicitation.</span></p> Other Information:<p><span>Because ASU is not an MSI, the Pathways Training Program would require partnership with an eligible Minority-Serving Institution (MSI) that grants bachelor's or graduate degrees in fields relevant to education.</span></p>
