Overview

<p>PURPOSE:<br>The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to solicit qualified firms who can provide Personalized Learning for Yuma Elementary School District No. 1. In the past seven months District has spent approximately $93,000 on these services, however, no volume is implied or guaranteed.</p> <p>BACKGROUND:<br>It is the intention of Yuma Elementary School District No. 1 (YESD1) to purchase professional services to assist the District with a plan to design, implement, and evaluate a district-wide personalized learning environment. YESD1 is in its fifth year of implementing a personalized learning environment. The plan will include the following:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and articulate a district vision and strategy for personalized learning</li> <li>Deepen the understanding of personalized learning</li> <li>Design new instructional models that personalize learning</li> <li>Support schools with high quality professional development to strengthen teachers’ instructional practices that support the whole student</li> <li>Build capacity of district administration, principals, lead teachers, and instructional coaches</li> </ul> <p>The plan should use the knowledge base on personalized learning, current articles, recorded media of classroom practice, analysis of artifacts, collegial consultation and feedback, practice exercises and on-site learning walks for the purpose of building capacity of district admin, principals, lead teachers, and instructional coaches.</p> <p>Ultimately, the District seeks assistance in implementing a personalized learning environment that will lead the district to a more student centered approach to teaching.</p> <p>FUNCTION:<br>In your response to this RFP please demonstrate how your company will address the following:</p> <ol> <li>Develop and articulate a district vision and strategy for personalized learning. The consultant should have multiple experiences in developing and articulating a district vision and strategy for personalized learning. The consultant should use current business and educational thinking and practice to develop the vision and strategy.</li> <li>Deepen the understanding and practices of personalized learning. YESD1 is in its 5th year of its personalized learning journey. The consultant needs to guide the district on its journey that will deepen the knowledge and practices of personalized learning while listening to the needs and desires of the leadership team.</li> <li>Design new instructional models that personalize learning. The consultant needs to provide successful examples of personalized learning models that take into account whole group instruction, targeted group instruction, rigorous instruction, student collaboration, technological devices (1:1), digital content, and social emotional learning. All this leads to strengthening student agency.</li> <li>Support schools with high quality professional development to strengthen teachers’ instructional practices that support the whole student. Through the capacity building of principals, lead teachers, and instructional coaches, the consultant will provide high quality professional development that will train teachers to use the most effective personalized learning practices to help all students succeed. It will be an added benefit if the consultant is attached to a regional or national institute, summit, or conference.</li> <li>Build capacity of district administration, principals, lead teachers, and instructional coaches. The consultant will use effective strategies to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the personalized learning environment and then build the capacity of district administration, principals, lead teachers, and instructional coaches that will lead to greater student success.</li> </ol> <p></p>
