<div>The Regional English Language Office (RELO) in the Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Embassy Islamabad of the U.S. Department of State is pleased to announce a funding opportunity, contingent on funding availability, through the Public Diplomacy Grants program for the Pakistan Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) English Language Teacher Exchange. The award seeks a U.S. university partner to promote the development of English language skills, knowledge of current English Language Teaching (ELT) pedagogies, and the leadership skills of a select number of Pakistani high school English language teachers through a blend of classroom and field experiences. This includes community engagement activities and opportunities to network with English language teaching peers in the United States.</div> <div></div> <div>The Pakistan Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) program provides Pakistani high school English language teachers with unique opportunities to develop expertise in English language teaching skills and become more familiar with the United States. TEA participants travel to the United States for a six-week academic program at a U.S. university that includes seminars on teaching methodologies, curriculum development, lesson planning, and technology. Teachers are also placed in U.S. secondary schools near their host university where they work closely with U.S. teachers. A minimum of fifty (50) Pakistani teachers will participate in the program under this award. RELO Islamabad has a competitive, structured follow-on program for TEA Alumni to deliver face-to-face training to colleagues in their community upon their return.</div>
