Overview

<p><span>The purpose of the Demonstration Grants for Indian Children program is to provide financial assistance to projects that develop, test, and demonstrate the effectiveness of services and programs to improve the educational opportunities and achievement of preschool, elementary, and secondary Indian students.</span></p>

Solicitation Limitations: <p><span>Eligible applicants for this program are State educational agencies; LEAs, including charter schools that are considered LEAs under State law; Indian tribes; Indian organizations; BIE-funded schools; Indian institutions (including Indian IHEs); or a consortium of any of these entities. The absolute priority for NYCP requires that an applicant be a member of a partnership that includes at least one tribe or its TEA and at least one LEA or BIE-funded school. Applications will be rejected that do not include at least these two types of partners.</span></p>
