Overview

<div>The purpose of this program is to support efforts to conserve Arizona's wildlife. Funding is available to support projects that promote outreach in order to enhance important partnerships and generate fresh approaches. All projects should result in a discrete product, such as a facility, property feature, written report, or program available to the public or used for public benefit. The purpose of the Environmental Education component is to support educational projects concerning basic ecological principles and the effects of natural and human-related processes on natural and urban systems, as well as to support projects that enhance public awareness of the importance of safeguarding natural resources..</div> <div>.</div> <div>Projects must meet one or more of the following criteria:</div> <div>.</div> <div>Criterion 1: educator professional development partnerships: help professional educators develop resources, programs, lessons, or activities for educator professional development training, with an emphasis on the following topics:</div> <ul> <li>History of wildlife conservation and the North American model of wildlife conservation</li> <li>Fostering outdoor observation skills</li> <li>Fostering outdoor inquiry skills</li> <li>Technology for field investigations</li> <li>Integrating science and language arts</li> <li>Integrating science and social studies</li> <li>Other topics, as long as they are approved by the program officer listed on page 1 of the Guide file</li> </ul> <div>.</div> <div>Criterion 2: North American model of wildlife conservation education and outreach: funding to develop and implement unique projects that can educate the general public on the North American model of wildlife conservation (NAM), including media or marketing campaigns, formal or informal curricula, and interactive exhibits</div> <div>.<br>Criterion 3: developing natural resource stewards: funding for collaborative multiagency/organization projects that use outdoor recreation as the foundation to develop public appreciation and stewardship of natural resource conservation, with a focus on breaking down barriers between organizations to facilitate better collaboration to reach a broader segment of the public</div>
