Overview
The Governor Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF), with funding from the AmeriCorps State Formula Grant Program, has developed a Request for Grant Application (RFGA) that supports Indian Tribes, institutions of higher education, local governments and nonprofit organizations in building capacity through engaging AmeriCorps members in addressing critical community needs. This formula grant program has been authorized through the National and Community Service Act of 1990, as amended by the Serve America Act of 2009, emphasizes measuring the impact of service and focusing on a core set of issue areas. In order to carry out Congress’ intent and to maximize the impact of investment in national service, AmeriCorps has the following focus areas of 1) disaster services, 2) economic opportunity, 3) education, 4) environmental stewardship, 5) healthy futures, and 6) veterans & military families.
The funding administered by GOYFF addresses the most pressing issues related to Arizona communities and families. As such, applicants are highly encouraged to align applications with Governor Hobbs’ Priorities as listed on her website. Priority consideration will be given in the evaluation process to applicants that demonstrate that the priority area is a substantive part of the program focus and intended outcomes and must include a high quality evidence based program design.
This is a 12-month contract that may be renewable for two (2) additional twelve (12) month periods. Successful applicants may be eligible for continuation funding for a second and third program year contingent upon the availability of federal appropriations, compliance with terms and conditions, programmatic and financial performance, and through the submission of a renewal application. The funds available will be approximately $4 million for GY2024; second and third year allocations are dependent upon federal appropriations.
Other Information:The number of awards will depend upon the number and quality of applications received. There will be an undetermined number of awards with an annual maximum award available of $500,000 (20 MSY*) per awardee per year. It is recommended that applicants request at least $100,000 (4 MSY*), however applications below this minimum will still be considered.
