Overview

The Small Grants Program is a competitive, matching grants program that supports public-private partnerships carrying out projects in the United States that further the goals of the North American Wetlands Conservation Act.

The Small Grant Program's goal is to promote partnerships between public agencies and groups interested in:

  1. long-term protection, restoration, and/or enhancement of wetlands and associated uplands habitats for the benefit of all wetlands-associated migratory birds;
  2. maintaining and improving the current distributions of wetlands-associated migratory bird populations; and
  3. maintaining an abundance of waterfowl (ducks, geese, and swans) and other populations of wetlands-associated migratory birds consistent with the objectives of the North American Waterfowl Management Plan. Small Grants Program contributes to efforts to support climate resilience, leverage partnerships, and support land conservation and biodiversity efforts.

Solicitation Limitations:

100% cost sharing/matching is required.
All NAWCA projects must match the grant request no less than a 1-to-1 ratio.
