Overview

The mission of the Tomberg Family Philanthropies is to support well run and effective programs that make a difference in the areas of poverty alleviation, the environment, health and education. Our focus is on supporting projects that help their recipients build capabilities themselves that will last far beyond the end of the specific project.

The Tomberg Family Philanthropies has made two significant changes to our application process for this grant cycle.

Funding Areas: This funding cycle we will only be supporting new projects in the areas of education and poverty alleviation.Normally we also support projects in the environment and health areas, but we found that those funding areas had received extra support over the past few years. Therefore, we are only reviewing proposals in education and poverty alleviation for this funding cycle. We will again be supporting projects in the environment and health funding areas in future years. Current grantees may submit requests for continued funding for the project we funded in 2020 – 2021 regardless of the funding area.

Submission Timing: Previously no preference was given to Letters of Inquiry that we received earlier in the submission period. However this year, once the submission period opens, do not delay submitting your Letter of Inquiry to receive a thorough, multi-person review of your submissions. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications received, we can only commit to this level of review for those Letters of Inquiry submitted earlier in the application process. We will consider all valid submissions received before September 7, 2021, but earlier submissions will be prioritized to receive the most thorough consideration.

Solicitation Limitations:
Any organization considering a grant application should first submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI).
Last Updated:
