<p class="btn btn-gold btn-lg btn-block">Limited Submission: pending faculty interest</p> <p>The U.S. Embassy Zagreb Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) is pleased to announce that funding is available through the PDS Small Grants Program.</p> <p><strong>PDS Zagreb invites proposals for programs in the following areas:</strong><br><em></em></p> <p><em>Entrepreneurship/Economic Prosperity</em></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size:1em">Projects that prepare small- and medium-sized enterprises to expand to the global market.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:1em">Anti-corruption educational programs and initiatives that contribute to government accountability, business transparency, and improving Croatia’s investment climate.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:1em">Entrepreneurship programs for underrepresented audiences including women, minorities, and residents of small cities and rural areas.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:1em">Programs supporting women’s rise to senior leadership positions in government, business management, civil society, academia, and other sectors.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:1em">Programs that deepen ties between U.S. and Croatian professional tech organizations and institutions, preferably with the virtual or in-person participation of U.S. experts on topics such as artificial intelligence, financial technology, and cybersecurity.</span></li> </ul> <p><em>Gaming/Esports</em></p> <ul> <li>Projects that promote career opportunities in esports and gaming, including through tournaments, festivals, workshops, lectures, conferences, and related activities to improve conditions for amateur and professional gamers, including those from underrepresented groups.</li> <li>Activities that highlight game development as a growing industry, such as hackathons, game jams, and professional development activities for programmers. Engaging U.S. experts in virtual or in-person programs is recommended.</li> </ul> <p><em>Climate Action</em></p> <ul> <li>Innovative programs that engage American and Croatian experts in climate action, including raising climate awareness, elevating environmental justice, and promoting the green economy and eco-friendly entrepreneurial initiatives such as sustainable development, sustainable finance, renewable energy, and eco-tourism.</li> </ul> <p><em>Human Rights and Democracy</em></p> <ul> <li>Programs for teachers and/or students that strengthen Croatia’s Holocaust education curriculum by incorporating new resources, introducing new classroom strategies, and developing engaging activities and workshops that combat antisemitism and promote tolerance.</li> <li>Programs that improve Holocaust education in Croatia by increasing the capacity of key institutions and organizations to deepen understanding of the past and legacy issues. Projects that engage U.S. experts for joint activities are preferred.</li> <li>Projects that engage underrepresented audiences, celebrate diversity, and increase societal inclusion of underrepresented groups.</li> </ul> <p><em>Culture</em></p> <ul> <li>Artistic programs that share the richness and diversity of American values and support cultural dialogue between American and Croatians. Programs can include cultural performances, guest speakers/directors/performers, the rights to American works, exhibits, workshops, and art exchanges. An educational program component, such as workshops or master classes conducted by one or more visiting U.S. artists, is required.</li> </ul> <p><em>Media and Digital Communication</em></p> <ul> <li>Media-related projects that address one or more of the following themes: media freedom, media literacy, countering disinformation and fake news, and support for professional development in investigative journalism.</li> <li>Digital communication-related projects that address one or more of the following themes: digital entrepreneurship, digital and media innovation, and the use of artificial intelligence in communications.</li> </ul>

Solicitation Limitations: <p>Grants are awarded to Croatian non-profit organizations and institutions including educational institutions.<br>Applicants are only allowed to submit one proposal per organization.</p> Other Information:<p>Cost-sharing is encouraged.</p>
