Coconino - Parenting Education

Overview

The intent of this RFGA is to fund the Parenting Education strategy, serving parents with children birth to age 5 in the Coconino Region. The intent of the strategy is to support parents through a structured series of classes to build skills and strengthen their role as their child’s first and most important teacher.

Total Funds Available:
This is a twelve (12) month contract for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025 with an option for renewal for up to two (2) additional twelve (12) month periods. Approximately $120,000 is available for each twelve (12) month period. First Things First reserves the right not to award the entire amount of available funds or to award an amount that is greater than the posted available funds. Renewal is contingent upon continued need, satisfactory contract performance and availability of funds. One or multiple awards may be made.

Parenting Education series must be proposed to be delivered throughout the Coconino region with 
a focus on recruiting participants who live in the rural communities including Fredonia, Page, 
Williams and Winslow and the tribal communities of Hopi and the Kaibab Band of Paiute. The 
Parenting Education standards of practice requires recruitment of parents in the community priorto the start of each series. The regional council has recommended the following minimum number of parents to be enrolled, by geographic location, prior to the start of each Parenting Education series:

• Flagstaff: 8 parents
• Hopi and Kaibab Band of Paiute: 3 parents
• Fredonia, Page, Williams and Winslow: 5 parents
