<div>Through the St. Lucia ConnectEd addendum to the YouthPower 2 (YP2) Annual Program Statement (APS) No. 72053820APS00001, the USAID/Eastern and Southern Caribbean (USAID/ESC) Mission seeks opportunities to co-create and collaborate in the development of interventions that will improve primary and secondary digital literacy while building skills in youth that are increasingly sought after in today’s job market.</div> <div></div> <div>The St. Lucia ConnectEd addendum invites eligible organizations to submit Concept Notes outlining innovative approaches to youth engagement and employability skill-building to support digital literacy in Saint Lucia.</div> <div></div> <div>The purpose of St. Lucia ConnectEd is to improve the digital literacy of primary and secondary-school learners and build youth employability skills. St. Lucia ConnectEd aims to develop and sustain both the technological and human capacities to improve digital literacy and support youth development.</div> <div></div> <div>By engaging youth to partner with primary and secondary schools to improve digital literacy the activity expects to improve youth employability skills while enhancing teaching and learning in St. Lucia. In addition, the activity will build the resilience of the St. Lucia education system by equipping students, teachers, and schools with the skills and tools to ensure continuity of learning in the face of ongoing and future health and environment-related disruptions.</div> <div></div> <div>USAID envisages the activity will include concrete and practical approaches that meaningfully involve and support young people and educators in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating solutions as an exemplar of the PYD approach in the St. Lucian context.</div> <div></div> <div>For the purposes of this addendum, digital literacy is defined as the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, compose, create, communicate, and share information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills as well as an understanding of various digital platforms.
