The Brabson Family Foundation (formerly Brabson Library and Education Foundation) is a philanthropic family foundation that honors the grantors and reflects the family’s passion for bold, innovative ideas that may have a significant and long-term impact especially in education, sciences, and the arts.

Our Vision
The work of the Brabson Family Foundation improves peoples lives through education, science, and the arts. The Brabson Family Foundation provides:

• New opportunities at all levels to excel, to lead, and to propagate excellence, sciences, and arts
• Opportunities to participate in education, sciences, and arts to individuals who otherwise would not have them
• Expanded access to education, sciences, and arts for individuals enabling them to contribute to:
  • More sustainable use of the world’s resources
  • Reduced tension and the promotion of peace
  • Increased human dignity

Successful Brabson Family Foundation grant applications:

• Demonstrate a novel or unique idea; something that hasn’t been done before
• Have a clear and concise problem statement and proposed solution

We start accepting proposals in September of each calendar year through March 1st of the following year.  For example, 9/1/25 - 3/01/26.  Our foundation reviews and votes on the accepted proposals during our annual meeting which occurs over a weekend in April or May. Successful applicants will be notified in May. If your proposal is approved, the funds will be sent in July of that calendar year.

The number and size of grants we fund vary from year to year. This histogram shows the grants we funded in 2021 and 2022. This information is provided for informational and rough planning purposes only. Please note that the vast majority of grants we fund are below $10,000.
