Overview

The Program for Transborder Communities (PTC) is now accepting applications for Research Cluster Seed Grants and Individual Research Seed Grants to support development of proposals for external funding in the interdisciplinary field of transborder studies. We welcome any application exploring transborder communities and critical social, cultural, economic, political and environmental processes occurring at the intersection of borders and society. While the main focus of PTC is the US‐Mexico borderlands, applications focusing on other border regions of the world will be considered if they directly contribute to the understanding of transborder communities and processes.
PTC is an initiative within ASU’s School of Transborder Studies designed to promote collaborative and comparative research by supporting the activity of academic groups and networks that contribute to the development of innovative studies and solutions to critical problems faced by transborder communities, especially Latinx and Mexican origin populations in the United States, Mexico and the US‐Mexico borderlands. We strongly encourage applications from groups and individuals working in collaboration with researchers from the Centro de Investigación en Alimentación y Desarrollo (CIAD), El Colegio de Sonora (COLSON) and the Universidad de Sonora (UNISON). However, cross‐border collaboration is not a requirement for a successful submission and all projects with a focus on transborder communities will be considered.
