Teacher academies that make a difference now
In an article published by Kappan magazine, R. Lennon Audrain, teacher and Gregory Mendez, principal — both with Skyline High School in Mesa, Arizona — write that many students who enter career and technical education programs for future educators do not go on to study education. In partnership with MLFTC’s Next Education Workforce initiative, Audrain and Mendez worked with Skyline to revamp its teacher academy program Education Professions, “to have value for students and schools, no matter what career path students ultimately choose.”
