MLFC celebrates promoted faculty

Arizona State University's Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation congratulates the following faculty who have been recently promoted or appointed as new faculty members.
New Faculty
Racquel Armstrong, Assistant Professor. Armstrong begins her position as Assistant Professor after being a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at MLFC, bringing expertise in educational leadership and school improvement approaches.
Ishmael Miller, Assistant Professor. Miller begins his position as Assistant Professor after being a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at MLFC, bringing expertise in educational leadership and community-based spaces that serve youth of diverse backgrounds.
Promoted Faculty
Erika Flores, Clinical Associate Professor. Flores was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor. Her background is in elementary educator preparation and curriculum design, supporting teacher candidates across rural Arizona and those working with English learners.
Audrey Garcia, Clinical Associate Professor. Garcia was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor. Her background is in educator preparation and mentorship for nontraditional preservice teachers, grounded in bilingual/multicultural education and rural community partnerships.
David Garcia, Professor. Garcia was promoted from Associate Professor. His background is in ducation policy and politics — especially school choice, accountability and charter schools — in Arizona and beyond
Kathleen Haltorp, Clinical Associate Professor. Haltorp was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor. He background is in special education teacher preparation and clinical supervision, including assessment foundations and school-district partnership programs.
Lauren Harris, Professor. Harris was promoted from Associate Professor. Her expertise is in history and social studies education focused on teaching “difficult histories" and in projects that support effective teaching of civics education.
Ashley Katikos, Clinical Associate Professor. Katikos was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor. Her background is in educator-preparation leadership and practice-based learning across PK–12 partnerships, with research in online teaching and learning
Marzieh Kaveh, Associate Professor. Kaveh was promoted from Assistant Professor. Her expertise is in bilingual education and language policy.
Carlyn Ludlow, Clinical Professor. Ludlow was promoted from Clinical Associate Professor. Her background is in teacher-preparation program design and policy with emphasis on certification curriculum, first-year student success and preservice teacher retention.
Katherine “Katie” Palichuk, Clinical Associate Professor. Palichuk was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor. Her background is in clinical teacher preparation and graduate pathways leadership, specializing in elementary education and inclusive K–3 student-teaching.
Lirio Patton, Clinical Associate Professor. Patton was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor, and brings a background in bilingual/ELL education and decolonial, and community-centered educator preparation.
Erin Rotheram-Fuller, Professor. Rotherham-Fuller was promoted from Associate Professor. Her expertise includes shool-based interventions and community partnerships to support children — including those with special needs and autism — across academic, behavioral and social outcomes.
Steven Salik, Clinical Associate Professor. Salik was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor. His focus is on learning design and educational technology for online and blended environments. He's co-program coordinator for the Learning Design and Technologies M.Ed. program.
Casey Swingle, Clinical Associate Professor. Swingle was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor, and has a background in early-childhood elementary educator preparation with a focus on literacy methods and clinical supervision of internships and student teaching.
Heather Villarruel, Clinical Associate Professor. Villarruel was promoted from Clinical Assistant Professor. Her background is in educator-preparation leadership and curriculum/clinical-model design, including supervision innovations and division operations
Chengan Yuan, Associate Professor. Yuan was promoted from Assistant Professor, and brings a background in special education and applied behavior analysis aimed at improving outcomes and IEP quality for learners with autism and developmental disabilities.
