Helping educators effectively use AI for teaching and learning

AI in education Learning Futures Collaborative
September 19, 2025

The emergence of artificial intelligence in education brings both exciting opportunities and tough questions. Members of the Artificial Intelligence in Education collaborative at ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation are working with educators to help integrate and assess AI tools.

The AI in Education collaborative is bringing together faculty, students, learning-focused groups and members of the wider community to identify, develop and research evidence-based approaches that can help educators effectively apply AI in learning environments that support student success and research advancements. It is part of the wider MLFC Learning Futures Collaborative initiative that bridges research and practice by focusing on core education and learning themes.

In this video, AI in Education members Punya Mishra, Steve Salik, James Dunnigan, and Janel White-Taylor share how the collaborative is developing projects that range from AI mentors to K-12 workshops. Through this work, the AI in Education collaborative is helping educators at all grade levels, including higher education, use AI in ways that emphasize creativity, collaboration and critical thinking skills.
