Hear from Jamaica’s Minister of Education and Youth

The Honourable Fayval Williams will present a lecture on Jamaica’s efforts in elevating
the role of education in shaping the future.

Minister Williams has led Jamaica’s education sector in its most challenging times, including devastating disruptions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the looming existential threats from hotter temperatures, droughts and rising sea levels related to the climate crisis. Join us to learn about the lessons Jamaica’s education sector learned from pandemic responses for resilience, social wellbeing, and environmental sustainability. We’ll also hear about Minister Williams’ experiences, ideas, and visions for mobilizing the support of all development partners, civil society and youth organizations to reimagine education systems of the future.
