AZTESOL State Conference
MLFTC is proud to sponsor Arizona Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (AZTESOL)'s annual conference, Oct 20-Oct. 21, 2023.
The theme for this year is "Layered Learning, Layered Learners: The multilayered dimensions of language learning and learners"
- Keynote speaker this year is Kathy Hoffman, Executive Director, Innovations and Special Education Initiatives, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU
- Featured speaker is Jill Koyama, Vice Dean, Educational Leadership & Innovation, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU
Panel discussants will include both the keynote and featured speakers as well as
- Janice Mak, Clinical Associate Professor at ASU who will focus on ELs in Science,
- Amanda Tachine, Assistant Professor at ASU, who will focus on ELs within Indigenous populations, and
- Nicole Teyechea, Senior Specialist of NIET and founder of Finita, who will focus on bilingualism and dual language.
