ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation, in collaboration with Mesa Public Schools and the Greater Phoenix Chamber, is delighted to invite you to the Arizona premiere of the documentary film Multiple Choice, presented by What School Could Be. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring education and business leaders.

  • Tuesday, October 21
  • 6:30–9 p.m. (Arizona Time)
  • Westwood High School Shepherd Auditorium
945 W. Rio Salado Pkwy, Mesa, AZ 85201

About the film
In an economically-challenged Virginia community, one superintendent is demonstrating the immense power of career-based learning — not as a last-chance resort for some, but as foundational for all — in ways that benefit the career-bound AND the college-bound. The film immerses viewers in the district’s Innovation Center, where students explore diverse careers, collaborate, and master traditional and new-economy skills. Amid political turmoil and technological upheaval, Multiple Choice offers an inspiring vision of kids finding purposeful paths, with a community united toward the goal of prosperity for all. About the panel discussion
After the film, MLFC Dean Carole Basile will be joined by Jennifer Mellor, Chief Innovation Officer for the Greater Phoenix Chamber, Westwood Principal Chris Gilmore, and Mesa Public Schools Director of CTE and Innovative Partnerships Marlo Loria in a panel discussion.

Why we’re screening this film
ASU and Mesa Public Schools have worked together for years to develop new models of school. We welcome caring and careful innovations that center the needs of learners and prepare them for the jobs of the next economy and the obligations of citizenship. And we believe that all of us — K-12 schools, universities, businesses and the communities we share — can and must work together to develop new and effective ways to teach and learn.
