Program description

The MA program in education is designed for professionals who want to advance their career in the field of education. The degree program provides a foundation for students to shape society by supporting educational endeavors. 

Students in this program can customize their coursework in the following ways:

  1. Choose two of the following Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College focal areas:
    • Applied behavior analysis.
    • Autism spectrum disorders.
    • Early childhood education.
    • Educating multilingual learners.
    • Gifted education.
    • Global education.
    • Learning design and technologies.
    • Literacy education.
  2. Or, choose one of the above MLFTC focal areas and one of the below focal areas from a partner colleges:
    • Data and society (New College of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts).
    • Digital audience strategies (Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication).
    • Social justice and human rights (New College of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts).

The program culminates with an applied project in which students design and develop an inquiry study that addresses one or more problems related to their areas of focus.
