Learning Sciences, MA
The Master of Arts in Learning Sciences focuses on the concept that learning happens everywhere — not just in schools. You'll study and practice the power of design thinking with a blend of theoretical insights and practical tools that will help you improve educational systems, shape learning environments and enhance learning experiences in a variety of settings. You'll learn how to facilitate learning using an interdisciplinary approach, drawing upon cognitive science, educational psychology, computer science, anthropology, sociology, information sciences, neurosciences, instructional design and more.
This program also provides a strong foundation if you'd like to pursue a doctoral degree in our Learning, Literacies and Technologies program.

Credentials
This program does not lead to teacher certification. However, it can prepare graduate students for doctoral credentials in education after graduation.

Applied projects

Admission requirements
You must fulfill the requirements of both the Graduate College and Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
You must also have earned a bachelor's or master's degree in any field, from a regionally accredited institution. You must have a minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA in the last 60 hours of your first bachelor's degree program, or applicable master's degree program. If you don't meet the GPA requirement, you may be eligible for provisional admittance or a non-degree pathway.
