Faculty/academic associate application

Faculty/academic associates are part-time employees who teach one or two courses per semester under the guidance of a course/program coordinator. Those interested in teaching online might be hired as a lead instructor (faculty associate) or as an academic associate.

Course instructors will receive from the course or program coordinator a syllabus that provides required textbook information, learning objectives, and assignment guidelines. The college provides copies of the required textbooks and will support course instructors throughout the semester. Lead instructors for online courses will work with an instructional designer to prepare the online course materials. Lead instructors and academic associates facilitate the online learning for a group of students assigned to them.

New faculty associates must complete a faculty associate orientation; the orientation for online academic associates is completed online. Instruction is evaluated one to two times during every course.

The salary for faculty associates is $1,200 per credit hour course; the salary for academic associates is $600 per credit hour with a master’s degree and $833 per credit hours with a doctoral degree. Benefits are not included.
