Biography

Teresa L. Panneton has taught a variety of courses across all areas of the major map including educational psychology, cultural diversity, and service learning during her time in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. She serves as a course coordinator for all of the clinical experience courses in addition to my teaching responsibilities. These classes focus on making the connection between coursework and practical experiences in internship settings while laying a foundation for a smooth transition into the senior year residency in the iTeachAZ program. Panneton gets the opportunity to work with students across all of their semesters in the college due to her vast teaching experiences. This allows her a unique perspective to build relationships with students as they transfer from college students to teacher candidates to professional educators. Owen is a TAP certified faculty member who can clearly and intentionally model the Big 8 indicators and descriptors into my teaching which allows students to experience quality instruction. Her background includes extensive training in Kagan structures which focuses on engagement in the classroom. These structures are at the foundation of all of Owen's courses where the primary focus is on maximizing learning opportunities while fully engaging all students. She holds a gifted endorsement which required extensive research and knowledge in the area of differentiation. This has become a strength and a passion that Owen is able to highlight in all of my courses and provides a clear path on how her students can accommodate differentiation in their future classrooms. She is actively involved in creating a curriculum that meets ADE requirements and prepares students for their senior year residency in all of the clinical experience classes.

Research Interests

I am actively involved in creating curriculum that meets ADE requirements and prepares our students for their Senior Year Residency in all of our Clinical Experience classes.

I serve as a course coordinator for all of the Clinical Experience courses which involves mentoring several adjunct faculty on the use of TAP, Blackboard, Tk20, curriculum, student issues (notice of concern) and Peoplesoft.

As an educator in teacher preparation I am continually examining opportunities to engage my students through technology, interactive strategies and brain research.
