Helping students find joy through reading

Sarah Plitt (BAE ’12, MA ’16) earned her BAE in Elementary Education in 2012 at ASU and soon found a job in an Arizona school district. However, she quickly realized that many kids just don’t like reading. She knew this was something she had to help change because without reading, information is lost, “and it’s so important for your success in life,” she says. She also felt that is was a shame that she found that some kids just didn’t enjoy reading.

It was at that point that Sarah felt she could make a difference. She returned to ASU to get her Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Language and Literacy. She graduated in 2016 and has a passion for helping her students become lifelong learners. She wants them to continue to ask questions and be curious about the world around them.
