Online training for MLFTC Professional Pathways lead teachers

About the training

Thank you for serving as a lead teacher for the Professional Pathways experience of our teacher candidates. This online training is required for all mentors who will host a teacher candidate for the first time and is optional for all returning mentors. We invite you to learn about program updates and strategies for coaching and evaluating teacher candidates. Upon successful completion of the online training, mentors receive a certificate for four professional development hours.

The course takes approximately four hours to complete but does not need to be completed in one sitting.

  • Module 1: Course introduction and MLFTC Professional Pathways overview
  • Module 2: Co-teaching
  • Module 3: Teacher candidate evaluation
  • Module 4: Coaching the teacher candidate

Returning mentors may want to focus on Modules 2 and 3 which reflect recent changes to our teacher preparation program.

The self-paced course is offered throughout the year. Registration closes four business days before the training start date.

Training dates are found on the registration forms — “REGISTER - Single Semester” and “REGISTER - Two Semester” links below.
