Research Interests

Guiding Research Questions:

  • How can we better prepare first year teachers to address potential stressors they will encounter?

  • How can a mentoring program impact the professional skills of first year teachers?

  • How can we better prepare first year teachers to conceptually understand the impact classroom climate has on student achievement?

Current Research Project:

As an educator in teacher preparation, Cocchiarella and her colleagues are interested in examining mentor/induction support for new teachers.  Planning for this project is at a very preliminary stage.
