Digital Pedagogy

One component of Technology Initiatives within Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College supports the objective of providing our teacher candidates with appropriate experiences that lead to their graduating prepared to independently teach with technology. Providing multiple pathways to learn and practice digital pedagogy supports the technology infusion initiative that has been in place in the college for nearly ten years.

A number of elements support this objective:

  • Instructors have professional learning opportunities, networking methods, and resources available to them
  • All teacher preparation students, regardless of program, engage with four digital citizenship learning modules
  • Students have multiple digital pedagogy learning opportunities throughout their programs, often included in courses designated as technology-infused
  • All community members have access to the IgnitED Labs, emerging technology labs, available at Tempe, Polytechnic, and West campus and at the 4th Space - online
    • Services include sessions about learning and teaching with technology, engaging with emerging technologies, practicing digital technologies like Zoom, and visiting with Educational Technology Champions (ETCs) about educational technologies
