    Author and commentator Joel Westheimer will facilitate a forum with panels of educators who have implemented concepts from his book, “What Kind of Citizen? Educating our children for the common good” in their classrooms. This is a "learning-by-doing” event; audience interaction is key. After you register you will be invited to help create an online interactive story map for the event.

    Joel Westheimer is University Research Chair in Democracy and Education at the University of Ottawa and education columnist for CBC Radio. He has delivered more than 200 keynote speeches at conferences and public events and been the guest of institutions including Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Columbia, McGill and NYU, and the universities of Toronto and Amsterdam. He is a frequent commentator for "Good Morning America," "More to Life," "The Agenda," NBC News, NPR, CBC, and C-Span.
