Biography

Christina (Teena) Flesher is a clinical assistant professor and an iTeachAZ site coordinator of student teachers within the Mary Lou Fulton's Teacher College. She worked as a gifted education specialist and has taught regular elementary and gifted students since 1997. Her background and research interests are gifted education, higher level thinking skills, and differentiation in the classroom. She has presented at several local and national conferences and workshops. She has been educating undergraduate and graduate-level teachers at the college level in multiple programs of study since 2003. She has instructed many different courses within the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, including structured English immersion, language and literacy, children's literature, child and adolescent development, science in the elementary classrooms, and several of the student teaching courses. Her research topics include gifted education, differentiated instruction, and exposing students to higher levels of cognition.

  • How to challenge the gifted student in the regular classroom?

Current Research Projects:

As a faculty member of the Teachers College, Teena Flesher is always interested in higher education and adult learners. Her background and research interests are gifted education, higher level thinking skills, and differentiation in the classroom.
