Earn your bachelor’s degree in secondary education from ASU at Eastern Arizona College

EAC-125thHomepageWordmark.jpgAre you pursuing—or planning to pursue—an associate degree at Eastern Arizona College and interested in teaching grades 6-12? Take advantage of a new partnership between EAC and Arizona State University to earn a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education from Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College without leaving the Gila valley.

Once you successfully obtain an associate degree and enroll in the secondary education program, you’ll take ASU courses on the Eastern Arizona College campus at a discounted rate. You’ll benefit from face-to-face classes, an intensive internship, and a student teaching experience that lead to highly-prepared or highly-qualified status teaching grades 6-12 in one of several subject areas. Upper division classes in the program are taught by ASU faculty, many of whom are hired from eastern Arizona communities.

Program tracks include:

  • Math
  • English
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • History
  • Physics
  • General Science*

* The general science track prepares you to teach in middle school classrooms and may not lead to highly-qualified status in some districts. Contact your ASU advisor for more details.

In addition to teaching, this program provides the foundation you’ll need if you want to become a head coach and make a difference in the lives of student-athletes. Plus, you’ll receive access to ASU’s many resources, including built-in support to pass the state certification exam to teach in Arizona.

Contact us today to learn about the job outlook for your preferred track, verify that your Eastern Arizona College credits will transfer to ASU, and receive instructions for how to apply.
