Exclusive academy experiences designed to develop educators as leaders

Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College develops educators as creative intrapreneurs: people who work within communities and systems to bring people and ideas together in meaningful ways that improve learner outcomes and experiences.

ASU students in the Arizona Teachers Academy engage in a variety of experiences exclusive to academy students that prepare them to be innovative change-makers who can work at different social and organizational scales: with individual learners and peers; with principals and superintendents; with parents and community organizations; with partners in both the private and public sectors.

Activities include workshops and other experiences that prepare academy students to understand context and address challenges in schools.

Coursework for academy members varies by academic program: bachelor’s, master’s or non-degree certificate. It also varies by the specific early childhood, elementary education or secondary education program in which an academy member is enrolled.

All academy members participate in clinical experiences (student teaching) and benefit from the robust systems of support for which Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College is known throughout Arizona and the U.S.
