Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College is looking for students to become AmeriCorps Peer Mentors for the next academic year. We are looking for passionate future educators that desire to help first year MLFTC students succeed. We'll provide training that will equip you with mentoring and teaching strategies in community building, awareness, academic success and overall well-being.

AmeriCorps Peer Mentor

The job: AmeriCorps Peer Mentor’s aim to pave the way to a successful first-year for all MLFTC students by supporting them via their TEL 101 class, mentoring them outside of class, and hosting events specifically tailored to their interests. As an AmeriCorps Peer Mentor, you'll be a part of a national service team that commits on average 10 hours per week throughout the entire academic year.

 The benefits:

  • Earn a $2,600 living stipend (bi-weekly payments)
  • Upon completion of your service, receive a $1,342 education award to help pay for college, graduate school, vocational training or student loans
  • Grow professionally and build your leadership and services skills


  • Sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student as of fall 2021
  • Good academic standing
  • All successful candidates must be able to provide proof they are eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to work Fridays throughout entire academic year
