Join Sarah Suloff, Research Project Manager, Michelle Jordan, Associate Professor, and Andrea Weinberg, Assistant Professor at Mary Lou Fulton College for Learning Planet Festival's Arizona Students Taking Action for Sustainable Futures.
Action-Oriented Pedagogies (AOP, Weinberg et al., 2024), a pedagogical framework that responds to the urgent need for effective sustainability education in the modern day, supports educators in moving beyond traditional knowledge-centered instructional approaches towards more participatory and action-focused teaching and learning. This program will introduce the AOP model and explore ways that it has been put to use in local classrooms.
Join us as we hear from Arizona educators and youth about their own experiences coupling learning and action through real-world work that drives the realization of a more sustainable future!
