- UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES
Most people recall their favorite teacher. You could be that special mentor for someone else. If you have a gift for teaching others and a desire to make a difference, education may be the path for you.
At ASU, Teacher Education is hands-on, as students gain the most from their teaching methods coursework when it is partnered with experiences in classrooms. The Mary Lou Fulton College of Education continues to be an innovator in developing a comprehensive mix of academics, classroom experiences, and enrichment programs that reflect the needs and interests of our students and area schools.
Many of our methods courses are taught at partnership school sites throughout the greater Phoenix area. These classroom-based learning opportunities invite students to apply theory in order to gain greater understanding of the unique educational needs and challenges facing children from birth through high school.
Program Options
Students in the program apply for admission to one of four specific concentration areas: Early Childhood Education; Elementary Education; Secondary Education and Special Education. While these concentrations all share common elements, they each have distinguishing characteristics and options that reflect the needs and interests of our students and area schools, such as programs emphasizing study in Multilingual/Multicultural Education and Indigenous Teacher Education.INITIAL TEACHER CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS
