Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Certificate

teacher The Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Graduate Certificate is a program that prepares participants with the latest information and practical techniques to better understand and serve those with autism. This 15 credit program uses both in-class and online sessions to prepare students for the challenges of working with ASD.

The ASD Graduate Certificate is designed for individuals who:

  • are committed to providing services to children, youth and adults who fall under the ASD umbrella
  • hold a bachelor's degree or higher
  • meet ASU graduate admissions criteria
  • are interested in a graduate certificate in ASD, but not in pursuing a formal graduate program
  • are interested in a graduate certificate in ASD, and are also pursuing a formal graduate program

Students earning the MA in special education can pursue a variety of career options that include leadership for teaching and learning in inclusive education, gifted education, autism, educational technology and positive behavior supports.

Our program is tailored to your experiences and histories as well as your life aspirations. We look forward to opening doors and transforming minds.
Admission to a Special Education master's degree program requires a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and a 3.00 or better junior/senior GPA or acceptable GRE or MAT score (if GPA is below 3.0)

Admission requirements for doctoral students is available by contacting the C&I Graduate Program Office at 480-965-4602.

Application to all programs begins through the Arizona State University Graduate College, using their online application.

A variety of full and partial funding packages are available to students in the form of student research assistantships, teaching opportunities and scholarships. Students may request consideration for funding at the time of application.
