Doctor of Education (EdD) - Curriculum & Instruction
The Doctor of Education is designed to provide students with interdisciplinary opportunities to deepen their knowledge and understanding of educational practice and encourages the:

  • pursuit of an intellectual study of education theories and practices;
  • development of expertise in one of the C&I concentration areas;
  • acquisition of tools needed to provide professional leadership in curriculum, teacher education and professional development in the schools;
  • engagement in research/inquiry methods for addressing educational practices and issues.

In this program, students complete a major and minor concentration. The major field of study is selected from one of the Curriculum and Instruction EdD concentration areas.

  • Language and Literacy
  • Secondary Education
  • Special Education

The minor concentration consists of a defined complementary field of study at ASU. The student determines the minor concentration in consultation with their advisor.
