Dynamic Educational Leadership for Teachers and Administrators – DELTA

students The DELTA Doctorate (Dynamic Educational Leadership for Teachers and Administrators) program is a direct response to the increased demand for enhanced educational leadership in Arizona. The delivery method and schedule format recognize the unique needs of the full-time employee.

Critical areas of school instruction and administration are addressed: educational policy and law, evaluation and assessment of school change, state and local finance of schools, diversity in education for administrators, research techniques and organizational development. In addition, international and bi-national experiences to examine education are included.

The DELTA doctorate program is designed specifically for practicing administrators and teacher leaders. The program seeks applicants who are assistant principals, principals, directors, supervisors with district responsibilities, assistant superintendents, superintendents, human resource and school business administrators, governmental educational personnel and teacher leaders.

Completed application for the DELTA EdD program will be reviewed beginning January 15, 2010 and on a rolling basis through February 15, 2010. After February 15, 2010, decisions will be made on a space available basis.
Costs for the 66-credit DELTA professional EdD program include:
  • Instructional materials
  • Most meals (for weekly five-hour class and/or weekend classes) and parking at the Arizona State University Mercado facility
  • Travel & academic study for students in Mexico for the bi-national focus
  • Travel & academic study for students in South America, for a unique study/international field experience (Education in Global Contexts)
  • Administrative support for cohort students

Courses in the DELTA program are taught primarily by full-time faculty and successful practicing administrators, providing a balance among research, theory, and practice.
