In keeping with the two previous years' successful format, this year's conference will be a special afternoon/evening event at Old Main on the ASU Tempe campus. The evening features two inspiring and thoughtful keynote addresses by Catherine Weber and Taffy Raphael, both passionate professors of literacy education whose work focuses on improving literacy teaching and learning school-wide. They collaborate often, with their work emphasizing literacy content, strategies for engaging school teams to work collaboratively toward common goals, and developing assessment systems that monitor student and teacher progress throughout the year. They have also recently done work on the Common Core State Standards and what it means to be literate in the 21st Century. The evening includes hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and two roundtable literacy conversations. Join us for a fun way to earn five (5) professional development hours, while keeping your Saturday free. Register soon—space is limited!
