man teachingThe Office of Professional Field Experiences is responsible for placement and supervision of approximately 1,000 interns and 400 student teachers each semester. The office also prepares veteran teachers to serve as mentors to student teachers and provides intensive pedagogical and psychological support for pre-service teachers.

Mission

The Office of Professional Field Experiences will provide quality multicultural field experiences for all students enrolled in any teacher preparation program at Arizona State University.

Goals

  • Meet the needs of students for field experience placements with respect to location, grade level, subject and other factors as deemed appropriate.
  • Assign University Supervisors who confirm our commitment to prepare informed, stimulating and effective pre-service teachers.
  • Support students with resources to develop problem-solving techniques and strategies through individualized counseling, group sessions and professional seminars.
  • Establish positive, continuing communication with Arizona school districts, university departments, and educational organizations.
  • Respond to information requests from universities, districts, government or other related offices.
  • Review current research and practices in field experiences to ensure a well-planned and nationally recognized program.

  • 08/27 - FINGERPRINT INFORMATION FOR ALL INTERNS & STUDENT TEACHERS!
    It is now a law that you must possess a fingerprint clearance card in order to be placed in a school for an internship or student teaching. Students are not allowed to begin their internship or student teaching without a fingerprint clearance card on file in PFE and in their possession. No clock hours will be waived if you did not proceed in a timely manner! More information can be obtained in this document.
