Field experience provides opportunities for the student to:
- Apply ASU coursework
- Observe master teachers
- Experience diversity of philosophies, strategies, settings
- Participate in many of the responsibilities and skills required of teachers
Interns and student teachers assist classroom teachers by:
- Tutoring individuals or small groups
- Providing remediation, acceleration, or enrichment activities
- Assisting the teacher with regular classroom instruction
- Sharing innovative ideas or new strategies acquired through coursework
