Professional Field Experience

Field experience provides opportunities for the student to:

• Apply ASU coursework
• Observe master teachers
• Experience diversity of philosophies, strategies, settings
• Participate in many of the responsibilities and skills required of teachers

Interns and student teachers assist classroom teachers by:

• Tutoring individuals or small groups
• Providing remediation, acceleration, or enrichment activities
• Assisting the teacher with regular classroom instruction
• Sharing innovative ideas or new strategies acquired through coursework
